I am an experienced attorney in elder law issues. I help seniors, disabled persons, and their family members with health care decisions, long-term care planning, end-of-life decisions, and estate planning matters.

Estate Planning

I will help you minimize estate taxes for your heirs, ensure your wishes will be honored, provide for continuity in the management of your affairs in the event of incapacity or death, facilitate the transfer of wealth while possibly avoiding probate, and ensure your own preferences regarding health care treatment are honored if you are ever unable to make such decisions through the use of a Health Care Power of Attorney and Living Will.

Probate & Guardianship

Avoiding probate with Family Settlement Agreements, Affidavits of Heirship, Living Trusts, etc. when possible; or if necessary, getting Wills probated as quickly as possible and helping executors and trustees with their work.

It was our pleasure to work with Teresa Shapiro in the preparation of some very important documents as we age. She was very patient and addressed many of the questions that we had. We had the advantage of being able to take breaks, some lasting several days. This allowed us time to rethink some issues which were troublesome to us. I hope others will have similar experiences.
